“bind.” (part of “WITHIN.” series by BeMoreMEdia)

“We are not trapped by our thoughts.

What we generally do, however, is create thoughts that trap us.”

This past summer, we decided to do another editorial series.  This time, we wanted a darker, edgier, and more emotional look.  We decided to do a series called “WITHIN.” and these pictures are a part of a mini collection that make up the series.

This mini collection is called, “bind.” because we are often trapped within ourselves by emotions that we sometimes create;  and those can be the toughest kind of binds to break away from.

Society dictates what is right and wrong and can often limit us on what we want to say, feel or do.

Cannon Beach

If you grew up in the 80’s I know you’ve seen the movie ” Goonies “.  That was one of my favorite movies of all time. I was 8 yrs old when I saw it and I wanted to be one of the Goonies.  Adventure, romance, action and cute Sean Astin.  I loved that movie.  The reason we came to Cannon Beach was because of that movie.  This beach was in the intro scene and ever since then I have always wanted to visit this place.  We had a week off last march and we did a road trip from LA to Oregon. Our last stop of our Pacific Coast road trip was this gorgeous beach.

Madewell and TravelAnneStyle.. perfect combo!!!!!

Chambrays all you need!!!

As you reach a certain age, you tend to only have a few stores in mind when shopping… for clothes ( with shoes it’s another story ). I always seem to gravitate towards Madewell and Jcrew.  It so happens that both are actually sister stores and have the same effortlessly cool style to them.  Before Madewell, I was a Jcrew addict.  I love every single thing in that store ( after Jenna Lyons took over as Creative director ).  A mix of basics and classics which you would find a lot in my wardrobe.  But when Madewell started popping up in Baltimore, I fell in love.  The style is a bit more casual and the prices are definitely lower than Jcrew.  Ever since then I have found myself shopping there almost 90% of the time.  So, for this post, I wanted to share my most favorite piece from Madewell; their Chambray Shirts.  This should be added to the new basics, right next to our white tees.

2 CHAMBRAYS 2 WAYS!!

Madewell Chambray

For something casual to wear for meetings, brunch with the girls or even a coffee break with your significant other.  Here I paired my chambray with a mini wool skirt, both from Madewell and with a navy oxford by Christian Louboutin ( I purchased during my trip to Paris ). I chose the ” boyish ” style shoes since the skirt is a bit short.  It balances the look so it won’t be too sexy for day to day wear.  You can also pair this with ballet flats or even low top chucks in white, then add a baseball cap.  You can play around with accessories with this look since it’s simple.

Madewell

For a easy movie date look: I paired  it with skinny jeans and a jeweled sweatshirt; both from Madewell. This is a more monochromatic look so I decided to pair it with my Missoni colorful pumps.  I chose a bigger style top for this since i’m wearing skinny jeans.  Basic rule: Loose top tighter bottom and vice versa.

Madewell Chambray and lace

Summer ready look:  I paired my darker color chambray with my lace shorts both from Madewell.  The shorts are high waisted so I decided to wear it with my bikini top just to show a little skin.  The chambray acts as a cover up.  You can wear this while walking along the boardwalk or just to chill before dipping in the pool or beach.  I chose the green suede ballet flats to match the bikini and to add a pop of color.  ( ballet flats: Madewell ).

For the office:  Instead of wearing jeans for ” casual ” Fridays at work, try a chambray instead and pair it with printed pants.  I chose nude heels ( by Christian Louboutin ) for this look to add length to my legs.

” I bling in my white tee, serve feigns in my white tee

F*** a throwback I look clean in my white tee”

– Dem Franchize Boyz

I never leave the house without my white tee. It is the number must have in all my wardrobe for all season. For this post I wanted to show how versatile it can be. When I travel its the only style of top I have. Its available everywhere and very affordable. One of my favorite is from JCREW in vintage cotton. In this post I styled it with shorts, maxi skirt, an LBD, slouchy pants and BF jeans. Nothing says summer more than a white tee..

-Nelly

This blog got “country” written all over it. When I think of ‘Country” Nelly’s Country Grammar seems to be the first thing that pops in my head. So why not name this Country Grammar.. We all know summer is right around the corner, more like this friday. For this post, Nothing say summer than Gingham print. I recently purchased Church’s loafer in gingham print. I wanted to style it for this shoot. My husband been eyeing this one barn near us and he thought this outfit was perfect.

Avenue of the Giants

I had a pleasure to visit the Redwoods in Northern California. I have always wanted to see these gentle giants. They are the oldest and tallest trees in the entire world. They stand from 200-350 ft with diameters of 10 to 15 feet but the widest measured with the circumference of 52 feet. The Coastal Redwoods can live up to 2000 years old. They got the name from the color of their bark and heartwood.
